Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor

Location: Kent (Must be willing to travel across Kent)

Salary: Up to £30k

Driver with access to own vehicle is essential for this role.

Role Overview:

Trigon Recruitment are exclusively recruiting for a Functional Skills Tutor with a well established and expanding independent training provider in the Kent area. The provider delivers multiple contracts across adult education and employability within a range of vocational areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare lessons efficiently in order to conduct them competently.
• Deliver and assess accredited and non-accredited qualifications according to the delivery schedule.
• Deliver courses in the classroom and online using a range of programmes including Microsoft Teams, incorporating technology such as tablets and smartphones into your teaching and using interactive online resources enabling the learner to develop their skills.
• Set and assess learner work product daily, ensuring feedback is provided in a timely manner.
• Create schemes of work and lesson plans in accordance with the qualification specifications.
• Prepare educational material to assist with stretching and challenging the learning.
• Abide by the copyright rules and always source material before photocopying.
• Be prepared to deliver and assess a suite of work skills specialist programmes as required.
• Manage the class effectively and challenge learners on attendance and punctuality in line with the policy.

Essential/Desirable Criteria:

• Assessing qualification, TAQA, A1, or equivalent – Desirable
• PTTLS, DTTLS or equivalent – Essential
• Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics and English or equivalent – Essential
• Subject specialism in vocational courses – Essential
