Job Title: Curriculum Manager (Skills)
Location: Nottingham (with occasional travel across East Midlands)
Salary: £36,750 - £40,700
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Job Purpose:
As curriculum manager, you will lead a delivery team within the Skills Division to deliver an outstanding learning experience to all.
You will work closely with the engagement team to effectively manage caseloads, and with the quality team to ensure excellence in all that we deliver.
You will manage your curriculum area drawing on your own vocational and teaching expertise, and your knowledge of education funding contracts and compliance processes.
Main Responsibilities & Duties:
- Ensure the Curriculum Team have a thorough understanding of the curriculum offer, the qualifications that inform that offer, and the models of delivery.
- Work closely with the Engagement Team to ensure the curriculum offer meets the needs of local and regional stakeholders and employers.
- Manage the Curriculum Team workload to ensure caseloads and teaching hours meet expectations within financial budgets as agreed with Head of Skills and Engagement,
- Ensure clear timetabling and schedules of delivery maximise classroom resources.
- Provide effective leadership, coaching and development to enable the team to deliver outstanding professional practice across all areas of their work.
- Ensure all learners receive high quality advice and onboarding / enrolment experience; developing personalised learning plans to support their progress and personal learning goals.
- Work closely with the Data & Funding team to ensure clear processes are in place and are consistently adhered to by the curriculum team, ensuring full compliance with all funding rules.
- Attend monthly Quality Performance Clinic, working with the Quality Team to continuously review and evaluate the quality of delivery to maintain high customer satisfaction, ensure progress through the learning journey and achieve excellent achievement outcomes.
- Use data effectively to monitor learner progress ensuring effective intervention and support where progress is not as expected.
- Undertake joint observations of practice with the Advanced Practitioner team; ensure outcomes of observations and developmental coaching are recorded and progressed via the performance management process
- Work closely with the IQAs to ensure assessment practice is of high standard across the team and developmental actions are progressed via the performance management process.
- As curriculum manager you will be proactive and drive continuous improvement to ensure the team meet the expectations of external stakeholders: Ofsted, Matrix and awarding organisations.
Essential/Desirable Criteria:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent with a teaching qualification at minimum L4 or equivalent
- Professional vocational Qualification at least level 3 in Management and or extensive experience in leading/coaching a Team
- PC Skills – ability to use databases, word processing, PowerPoint, email and internet
- English and Mathematics to at least Functional Skills level 2
- Significant experience in leading, developing and delivering curriculum activity
- Experience of successfully managing workloads, caseloads and timetabling
- Experience of budgetary management
- Vehicle owner/full driving license holder or able to travel to various locations
