Job Title: SEN Class Teacher
Location: Battle
Salary: £30,000 - £38,000
Main purpose
The teacher will:
· Fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document
· Meet the expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards
Role responsibilities
· Teaching all allocated areas of the primary curriculum; (English, Maths, science, topic, Geography, history, DT, ASDAN, PHSE, Computing)
· Planning, preparing and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class group
· Maintain discipline within the classroom that is in line with the ISP Behaviour Policy
· Motivate pupils enthusiastic, imaginative presentation, setting standard for lesson presentation
Essential Criteria
· Hold Qualified Teacher Status
· Successful teaching experience
· SEN Experience and a focus on nurture – SEMH/ASD.
· A good knowledge of the National Curriculum knowledge in more than one area preferably Science and/or Maths
· Excellent behaviour management skills
· Reflective practitioner
· A good understanding of therapeutic approaches to education
· Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
· Proven ability to offer dynamic & engaging lessons
The teacher will be required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, and follow school policies and the staff code of conduct.
